The valuable Algarve team, made up of David Peres and Djalmir Andrade, was the winner of the 2nd stage of the National Footvolley Championship 2019, which took place this weekend, July 6 and 7, at Praia da Ribeira in Cascais.
The second stage of the main national footvolley event, counted on 26 teams, 52 athletes, in representation of 7 clubs, coming from north to the south of the country. The competition began on Saturday morning with the group stage, with the teams distributed in 8 distinct groups and lasted until around 7:00 pm, in a total of 36 games that would reveal the first 2 teams with a passport for the Quarter Finals.
The second and decisive day of the competition, Sunday, July 7, began at 10.00 with 12 teams in the fight for 6 open places in the quarterfinals. They followed the Quarterfinals and then the Semi-Finals with two decisive games that they put forward face-to-face in the first game Bruno Xavier / Xande (Imortal DC) and Jorge Gamboa / Rafael Matos (CD Póvoa), while in the second a confrontation between Ruben Santos / Juliano Guerra (EF Alan Cavalcanti) and David Peres / Djalmir Andrade (FC 11 Hopes). As a result of these games, we arrived at the most decisive moment of the stage, on the one the 'albufeirenses' Bruno Xavier / Xande (Imortal DC), on the other the 'farenses' David Peres / Djalmir Andrade (FC 11 Hopes), full stadium and much excitement and emotion in the air. After a very balanced 1st set, the farense team ended up appearing more determined and effective in their actions, also winning the 2nd set and the stage with the partial ones of 20x18 and 18x9.
In an organization of the Footvolley School Alan Cavalcanti with the supervision of the National Footvolley Federation, the main supporters of the event were Cascais City Hall, AlgarExperience, Sports Partner, Claw, Mycujoo, Pau-Brasil, Taberna Económica de Cascais, Tocca Acaí , Restaurant Gordinni, Frutorbel, as well as other local partners.

The championship continues on 20 and 21 July, with the town of Santa Luzia, in the municipality of Tavira, once again welcoming the main footvolley athletes.
