On 15 and 16 August, Praia da Rocha hosted another stage of the 2026 National Footvolley Championship, in an event marked by a high technical standard, strong public attendance and excellent weather conditions for the practice of the sport.
The Praia da Rocha Sports Area, in Portimão, hosted another stage of the 2026 National Footvolley Championship on 15 and 16 August, bringing together 40 athletes competing in the Men's and Women's Senior categories.
Over the two days of competition, there were several moments of great intensity and technical quality, with the competing pairs delivering a highly competitive spectacle in front of a strong crowd at Praia da Rocha.
Men's Seniors
The Men's Senior competition featured 14 teams, representing a total of 28 athletes.
On 15 August, the group stage and Round of 16 took place, while the quarter-finals, semi-finals, third-place play-off and final were held the following day.
The pair Rodrigo Otero / Juan Silva, representing Politécnico do Porto, were the overall winners of the stage, completing the competition undefeated. Bruno Carvalho / Kleyber Silva, from PGCN - Quinta Arena, secured second place, while António Custodinho / Fábio Murraças, representing FC 11 Esperanças, finished third. Fourth place went to João Sotero / Cláudio Cavaco, from CRD Santaluziense.

In the Women's Senior category, six teams, representing a total of 12 athletes, took part.
The competition took place entirely on 16 August, featuring the group stage, play-offs, semi-finals, third-place play-off and final.
Victory went to Bruna Gomes / Alessandra Iungano, representing PGCN - Quinta Arena, who also completed the stage without suffering a defeat. Olivia Costa / Mariana Felisberto, from FC 11 Esperanças, finished in second place, while Carolina Jorge / Constança Fernandes, representing FC Ferreiras - Arena Ataboeira, secured third place. Fourth place went to Maria Cláudia Silva / Júlia Vieira, from PGCN - Quinta Arena.

Winning Teams with Perfect Records
One of the main highlights of the Portimão stage was the performance of the winning teams in both categories.
Rodrigo Otero / Juan Silva, in the Men's Senior category, and Bruna Gomes / Alessandra Iungano, in the Women's Senior category, defeated every opponent they faced throughout the competition, delivering highly consistent and technically impressive performances.
Both teams confirmed their superiority at the decisive stage of the competition, winning their respective finals 2–0 in sets, completing a flawless campaign in Portimão.
The competition was also marked by the participation of two-time national champions, as well as several promising young teams, highlighting the growing technical quality and competitiveness of Portuguese footvolley.
Portimão: A Key Venue on the National Calendar
The organisation of another stage of the National Footvolley Championship in Portimão once again highlights the strong commitment of the Municipality of Portimão to the sport.
Year after year, the Municipality has renewed its support and confidence in promoting and developing Portuguese footvolley, making a decisive contribution to the growth and recognition of the sport in Portugal.
This ongoing partnership between the National Footvolley Federation and the Municipality of Portimão has helped establish Portimão as one of the key venues on the national footvolley calendar, providing excellent conditions for athletes, organisers and spectators, while reinforcing the municipality's importance in hosting major footvolley events.
The National Footvolley Federation therefore highlights and expresses its gratitude for all the institutional and logistical support provided by the Municipality of Portimão, which was fundamental to the success of another stage of the National Championship.
Towards the National Grand Final
With the conclusion of the Portimão stage, the 2026 National Footvolley Championship now enters its most decisive phase.
The competition will now move on to the National Grand Final, taking place on 12 and 13 September at Carvoeiro Beach, in the municipality of Lagoa, where the 2026 national footvolley champions will be crowned in their respective categories.
Expectations are therefore high for another major footvolley event, which will serve as the decisive stage of a championship that has continued to establish itself as a benchmark on the national sporting scene.
