Portugal won the silver medal in the 1st European Footvolley Championship

The first national team Nelson Pereira & Miguel Pinheiro won the silver medal in the 1st European Footvolley Championship, an event that was held in Schwabisch Gmund - Germany, between 1st and 5th of June 2016.

The final match between Nelson Pereira / Miguel Pinheiro (Portugal) and Dume Susini / Anghjulu Plasenzotti (France) was a great promotion for the sport, with spectacular moment. The French team won both sets (18x15 and 18x12) and was crowned as the 1st European Champion in the history of the sport.
Another highlight is the 4th honorable place achieved by Pedro Salvador / Tiago Melo (Portugal 2) that had access to the tournament through the qualifying.

Congratulations to the German Footvolley Federation, to the European Footvolley Federation, all the players, delegates, referees, ambassadors and specially to the city of Schwabisch Gmund.
