The Biggest International Footvolley Event in Portugal
The city of Albufeira will host the Footvolley World Tour 2026 – Albufeira, Portugal from July 10 to 12, 2026, bringing together some of the world's best footvolley teams at the iconic Praia dos Pescadores.
Organized in partnership with national and international governing bodies of the sport, the event will feature elite athletes representing multiple countries in a high-level competition designed to showcase the sport, promote international development, and position Albufeira as a premier destination for major beach sports events.
Competition Schedule
July 10
Qualification Tournament
Open to all eligible teams seeking a place in the Main Event.
July 11–12
Main Event
Official Footvolley World Tour 2026 competition.
Competition Format
Main Event
The Main Event will be played using a double-elimination format, meaning a team is only eliminated after its second loss.
Match Format:
- All matches prior to the semifinals: 1 set to 18 points;
- Semifinals and Final: Best-of-three sets (18 / 18 / 15);
- Third set played to 15 points;
- Third-place match: 1 set to 15 points.
Qualification Tournament
The Qualification Tournament will also be played using a double-elimination format.
Match Format:
- Qualification matches: 1 set to 18 points;
- Qualification finals for advancement to the Main Event: Best-of-three sets (18 / 18 / 15).
Event Structure
The competition will be held on specially prepared courts at Praia dos Pescadores, featuring:
- 1 Main Court;
- 1 Secondary Court;
- 1 to 2 additional courts available for training and warm-up activities.
Eligibility and National Representation
The Footvolley World Tour is a country-based competition.
To represent a country in this event, a team must meet the following requirements:
- One athlete must hold the nationality of the represented country;
- The second athlete, even if not a national of that country, must have resided there for more than two years;
- The second athlete must also have competed in that country's national footvolley championships for at least two years.
Men's Event
Men's Main Event
A total of 16 men's teams will compete in the Men's Main Event, allocated as follows:
- Brazil – 2 teams (World Ranking No. 1 nation);
- Portugal – 2 teams (Host Nation);
- EFVL – 6 teams (National champions from the highest-ranked EFVL countries);
- International Elite Teams – 2 wild card positions for elite international teams;
- Qualification – 4 teams advancing from the Qualification Tournament.
Men's Prize Money
With the support of TAFC International:
1st Place – EUR 4,000
2nd Place – EUR 2,000
3rd Place – EUR 1,000
4th Place – EUR 700

Women's Event
Women's Main Event
A total of 12 women's teams will compete in the Women's Main Event, allocated as follows:
- Brazil – 2 teams (World Ranking No. 1 nation);
- Portugal – 2 teams (Host Nation);
- EFVL – 4 teams (National champions from the highest-ranked EFVL countries);
- Qualification – 4 teams advancing from the Qualification Tournament.
Women's Prize Money
With the support of TAFC International:
1st Place – EUR 1,500
2nd Place – EUR 900
3rd Place – EUR 600
4th Place – EUR 300

The Footvolley World Tour 2026 – Albufeira will award a total of:
